Despite all my traveling and contrary to belief, I am quite a homebody. It’s the everyday routine, peace and quietness around our home in Singapore that is so hard to come by and hence so precious.
When I do travel though, I have been incredibly fortunate to meet and photograph couples that I enjoy being around with. I prefer sessions to be relaxed and unforced, and it always feels more of just hanging out then being there with the sole purpose of photography – it’s the experience that counts.
I just got back last night from four days spent with these guys exploring a different side of Hong Kong – a part that I’ve never experienced before and I have to say, it has changed my view of this island. The warmth and hospitality of Shiu Yuen’s family has been incredible, and I’ve forgotten how many meals they’ve invited me to be part of.
It wasn’t all photography though, as I said to Natasha it felt more like twenty percent climbing stuff, twenty percent getting from one place to another, twenty percent just chatting, twenty percent of getting them to try out (really) random stuff, and the last twenty percent was photography.
Well.. these are what we got out of it, and I hope you like them.
