It was the tail end of autumn when I flew over east to live with Ken and Ting, who graciously hosted me for a little less than a week. There is something to be said about spending time and getting to know the people I’m about the photograph. The process becomes much more organic and the connections more genuine.
As we drove down to the Mornington Peninsula that cold autumn morning, the rain started to come down gently and the sun shied away for most of the shoot, but its about embracing the whole process and trying to create something different, no matter the circumstances. Being by the sea, hearing the waves and just taking photographs, I had the best job in the world right there and then.
There is so much about Melbourne I haven’t explored and photograph, and I’ll be looking forward to the next time I’m back again.
