If there is just one wedding I’ve been looking forward to this year, it will have to be Ashley and Jarrod’s.
Everyone who knows Ash will without a doubt be affected by her caring and thoughtful nature and by just hanging out with them a couple of times, I can sense and see how deeply Jarrod cherishes her. True to their character, they had a simple and heartfelt ceremony in church (coupled with D-I-Y herb bouquets for guests). Instead of an elaborate wedding dinner, they chose to have a quiet meal together at Potato Head Folks, where Jarrod made Ash fall in love with burgers (or so he says..)
Yet, as my wife often says, a wedding is just one day. One day where we let go of all the negatives and focus on the people and love around us, a day where everyone whom we care about and who care about us gather at one place to celebrate our union. A marriage is a different thing altogether, and most times we have to go at it alone; figuring out the difficulties and doubts, riding the bumps and ticking off the significant milestones in life. It’s going to be a long and hard yet rewarding ride, and I have no doubt that these two are going to make it to the end.
From burger nights, hanging out at abandoned airports (check out their hearts connection session here) and finally tying the knot, it means so much being able to be there witnessing your commitment.
Congratulations you two!
