Throughout the latter half of 2016 I felt like I was stagnating in my photography. The way I photographed and blogged about weddings felt too heavily reliant on the aesthetic of the wedding details, and I didn’t want it to be so limiting. There has to be more to it than bohemian dresses and confetti, and I had to break free to be able to create at any time, anywhere.
As the new year began, I was determined to tell better stories in each individual photograph. If you’ve been here long enough, perhaps you’ll be able to notice the subtle changes along the way. My blog posts are jumbled up now, and it’s because I want every individual photograph to be strong enough to tell a story without having to rely on a traditional blog post based on a timeline. As you scroll through, I hope that it’ll take you thru the various moods and highlights of the wedding, at the same time getting a full picture of what happened during the day.
Yi Jun is from Singapore and Ignacio, from Argentina. These two met dancing Argentine Tango and flew back from San Fransisco for their wedding at Raffles Hotel. Their wedding was the first of 2017, and it was the start to photographing and seeing things differently. It was the start to my way of photography right now.
